Prime minister of Ljubljana Borut Pahor announced that he will not present the request to make value the "protection clause" by the EU legislation allowed in special cases when a member of the EU could represent an economical or ethnic danger from the point of view of the purchase of estates in another member of EU of smaller dimension. Instead that he announced that the government of Ljubljana will act within three months in order to create a legislation which would protect the Karst from massive purchase of estates by Italians with national legislative means allowed by EU communitarian laws in such cases (creation of "parks" where the building and commercial trading of estates is severely controlled).
Three months means that the term will expire in the middle of July, just when many Slovenes are on holiday and have in mind (at least the males) nothing else than the female genital organs, therefore in a period of the year not properly fitted for engaging political debates and debating of solution for ideological or economical problems . Significantly the term to present a request to EU and refused by the government which in turn chose the 'national way', would have expired at the end of this April, with a perfect short anticipe of one week respect the "historical visit" of the Romanist pope in the Aquileja/Oglej, town seat of the once old ancient "patriarchate of Aquileia/Oglej" (*).

Slovenia to immediately stop the people's petition for the introduction of the EU safeguard clause for selling property to foreigners in the area of the Karst near the former Italian-Slovenian border. This requires the Regional Council of Friuli-Venezia Giulia member Piero Camber of Peoples Freedom Party (Popolo delle Libertà - a party apparently owned by Silvio Berlusconi, note of avles), which believes that the enforcement clause opened the way for discrimination against Italians, which would be in total contradiction with the principles of the European Union. Camber calls the Land of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia, at all levels of activation in order Slovenia could suspend the possibility of such clauses, which - as a representative of Berlusconi's party - had a very negative consequences for relations between Italy and Slovenia. It would be a fatal blow to the Euroregion.

"Italianization" as metaphore and method of Roman Catholic Latinization

The Patriarchate of Aquileia was an early center of Christianity, an historical state and catholic episcopal see, and today a catholic titular see in northeastern Italy, centred on the ancient city of Aquileia situated at the head of the Adriatic, on what is now the Italian sea-coast, at the confluence of the Anse and the Torre. For many centuries it played an important part in history, particularly in that of the Holy See and northern Italy, and a number of church councils were held there.
From bishopric to patriarchate
Ancient tradition asserts that the see was founded by St. Mark, sent there by St. Peter, previous to his mission to Alexandria. St. Hermagoras is said to have been its first bishop and to have died a martyr's death (c. 70). At the end of the third century (285) another martyr, St. Helarus (or St. Hilarius) was bishop of Aquileia.
In the course of the fourth century the city was the chief ecclesiastical centre for the region about the head of the Adriatic, afterwards known as Venetia and Istria. In 381, St. Valerian appears as Metropolitan bishop of the churches in this territory; his synod of that year, held against the Arians, was attended by 32 (or 24) bishops. Valerian was succeeded by St. Chromatius (388-408) known for his homiletic and exegetical works. He promoted the work of Sts. Jerome and Rufinus and kept contact with Sts. Ambrose of Milan and John Chrysostom.
In time, part of western Illyria, and to the north, Noricum and Rhaetia, came under the jurisdiction of Aquileia. Roman cities like Verona, Trent, Pola, Belluno, Feltre, Vicenza, Treviso and Padua were among its suffragans in the 5th and 6th centuries. As metropolitans of such an extensive territory, and representatives of Roman civilization among the Ostrogoths and Lombards, the archbishops of Aquileia sought and obtained from their barbarian masters the honorific title of patriarch, personal, however, as yet to each titular of the see. This title aided to promote and at the same time to justify the strong tendency towards independence that was quite manifest in its relations with Rome, a trait which it shared with its less fortunate rival, Ravenna, that never obtained the patriarchal dignity.
Owing to the acquiescence of Pope Vigilius in the condemnation of the "Three Chapters", in the Fifth General Council at Constantinople (553), the bishops of northern Italy (Liguria and Aemilia) and among them those of the Venetia and Istria, broke off communion with Rome, under the leadership of Macedonius of Aquileia (535-556). The schism provided the opportunity for the bishop of Aquileia to assume the title "patriarch." Macedonius' successor Paulinus I (557-569) began using the title around 560.
Meanwhile, by the end of the next decade, the Lombards overran all of northern Italy. In 568, the patriarch of Aquileia was obliged to flee, with the treasures of his church, to the little island of Grado, near Trieste, a last remnant of the imperial possessions in northern Italy. This political change did not affect the relations of the patriarchate with Rome; its bishops, whether in Lombard or imperial territory, stubbornly refused all invitations to a reconciliation.
